Sending Mails from @aegee.org address with gmail
If you have an @aegee.org email alias and a gmail account, it is possible to send emails with your @aegee.org alias as sender. It is necessary to activate 2-step verification of your gmail account (Shown later; you need a valid phone number for this):
Start
- Log into gmail
- Go to "settings":
- Go to "Accounts and Import":

- Go to the "send as mail" section and click on "Add another email address that you own":

- A pop-up window will appear, enter your @aegee.org email alias (here we will use test@aegee.org as example):

- In the next step Enter smtp.gmail.com for the SMTP Server and "your gmail address" as username. Leave this window open and continue with the step "Changing sign-in behaviour"

Changing sign-in behaviour
- Leave the window from the last step, open a new browser window and go to http://accounts.google.com, click on Sign-in & security:

- Click on Signing in to Google:

Activating 2-step verification
- It is mandatory to enable 2-step verification. If it is already enabled you can directly jump to Creating app password, if not, activate the "2-step Verification" at the bottom of the first box:

- Click on Start set up:

- You might have to re-enter you gmail password:

- Enter your phone number, an SMS will be sent to this number:

- Enter the verification code from the SMS:

- You can keep the check box if you trust that computer:

- Click on "confirm" to turn on 2-step verification:

Create app specific password
- Go back to http://accounts.google.com → "Sign-in & security" → "Signing in to Google"
- You can now click on "App passwords":

- You might have to re-enter your Gmail password
- On "Select app", click on "Other" in the drop-down menu:

- Enter Gmail and click "Generate":

- The app password will be shown:

- Go back to the pop-up window from the beginning and the enter app password (IMPORTANT: not your gmail password!):

- When you click "add account", a verification mail will be send to your gmail inbox:

- Click on the link in the email...

- ...or enter the verifcation code in the pop-up window:

- That's it! If you compose an email you can now choose your @aegee.org alias as sender:

Disableling 2-step verification
- For more comfort you can disable 2-step verification again. For that go back to http://accounts.google.com → "Sign-in & security" → "Signing in to Google", click on 2-step verification.

- On the right sight you can disable 2-step verification

- Important: untick the box "Also clear my 2-step verification settings"
